About Ery

Ery Nzaramba trained as an actor at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles in Belgium and at the Birmingham School of Acting in the UK.
He is currently working with director Peter Brook and long time collaborator Marie-Hélène Estienne, on their new play Battlefield (world tour). In 2014-15 Ery was on a world tour with The Suit, a play also directed by Peter Brook and Marie-Hélène Estienne.
In 2009 Ery founded his production company Maliza Productions. He wrote Split/Mixed, a one-man show which he premiered on Broadway in New York (Theatre Row, Nov 2013). He was twice awarded a Grant for the Arts by Arts Council England (in 2012 and 2015) to research, write and develop his play Dream of a Nation.
In September 2016, Ery will be shooting the feature film Black Sunlight (working title) which he co-wrote with Agnieszka Piotrowska. The film is based on the life and work of cult Zimbabwean author Dambudzo Marechera – Ery will star as Dambudzo and Agnieszka will direct.
Ery has written and directed short films which have been official selections in festivals (The Blues Lover at Portobello Film Festival 2014; To The Naked Eye at Legacy Film Festival 2011).
